Adil

Adil is an Associate working in the Technology group, his role is to work on the next generation of software tools to be used in portfolio management and execution. He starts his day with engaging in a team meeting to share updates and align efforts, followed by coding and pair programming sessions.  

Outside of work, Adil is an avid boulderer. To share his interest and foster climbing among GICians he started the GIC Climbing Interest Group. 

Why did you decide to join GIC?

It was based on the recommendations from my peers as well as GIC’s commitment to dedicating additional time, effort, and resources to keep up with the technological advancements. This viewpoint piqued my interest to join the organization.

What does your typical workday look like?

Typically, my workday starts with engaging in a daily huddle with the team to share updates and align our efforts. Much of my day involves extensive coding, accompanied by regular pair programming sessions and team discussions, especially when tackling complex problems.  

What do you like most about working here?

I find the diversity on opinions and open feedback culture within my team to be invigorating. Moreover, GIC provides abundant opportunities for pursuing both professional and personal interests, offering various courses and interest groups to explore. 

How would you describe the learning & development culture at GIC?

While there have been numerous opportunities to participate in courses like Agile Development and AWS Introductory workshops, my most significant learning and development came from the invaluable guidance of my peers and seniors on the job, which has been particularly impactful in shaping my learning journey at GIC.
