Senior Vice President

Investment Services Private Markets

Alicia

Alicia is a Senior Vice President within the Finance & Accounting team of the Investment Services Private Markets (ISPVM) Department at GIC. Her team plays a critical role in supporting GIC’s private markets deal teams in carrying out their investment activities, and she is responsible for leading the Finance & Accounting Operations team.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her teenagers and travelling with them. She is also a proud sponsor of two children, one residing in Mongolia and the other in Cambodia. Alicia considers it a privilege to give back and support them with a secure living environment, necessities, and access to an education. She hopes to combine her love for travelling and meet each of her sponsored children in person someday.

Why did you decide to join GIC?

My first encounter with GIC occurred during my time as an auditor. I had the privilege of visiting the Head Office and was immediately struck by the sense of awe as I stepped into the lobby and saw the grand staircase leading up to the impressive reception area. That memory has stayed with me since.

When I learned about the job opening at GIC, I quickly recognised that the role would allow me to contribute my years of experience in supporting private markets while also gaining valuable experience through the lens of a global long-term investor.

Since joining GIC, it has been a truly rewarding and purposeful journey, with many opportunities to make a difference. I am grateful for the chance to work with such a talented and dedicated team, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to GIC’s mission of securing Singapore’s financial future.

What does your typical workday look like?

My typical day starts with the routine school runs before I head into the office for an early head start to internal discussions, team catch-ups and external meetings. As a team player, I collaborate with various departments and teams on ongoing initiatives and strategic projects throughout the week. Therefore, I tend to reserve Fridays for some deep work allowing me to focus on important tasks without any distractions.

In between each day, I like to have a ready cup of coffee on hand to keep me energised and focused. This helps me stay productive and efficient throughout the day.

Overall, my days are busy and dynamic, with a mix of meetings and exciting projects. I enjoy the fast-paced nature of my work and the opportunity to collaborate with talented individuals across different teams and departments.
