Senior Vice President

Infrastructure

Svetlana

Svetlana is a Senior Vice President in the Infrastructure team based in the London Office. Her leadership responsibilities include supervising the coverage of the European digital infrastructure sector, overseeing deal origination and execution, and representing GIC on the Board of some of our portfolio companies.

When she is not working, she devotes her time to her three young children, which is both fun and demanding. During weekends, she savors quality moments with her extended family and friends, and occasionally visits museums or attends plays. When she has time alone, she likes reading, exercising, or going for a run.

Why did you decide to join GIC?

During my interview rounds, I was impressed by the size and reputation of GIC as the one of the top long-term investors in different asset classes. Nevertheless, what truly persuaded me to join GIC was the company’s culture and the individuals I encountered during my interview process.

What does your typical workday look like?

Every day is unique! To give an idea of a usual week, it involves a combination of business development and travel, Board meetings and managing our portfolio companies, as well as deal evaluation and execution. Additionally, we have regular team meetings and GIC events to attend.

What do you like most about working here?

The organisation fosters a supportive culture and camaraderie among its members. As one of the world’s largest and leading global investors, we have a keen sense of purpose and a truly long-term investment horizon, which has earned GIC a stellar reputation. Working with this organisation and my incredibly talented team is a pleasure.

How would you describe the learning & development culture at GIC?

Throughout my tenure at GIC, I have gained remarkable learning experience. I have had the privilege of working on deals across all continents, except for Antarctica. Furthermore, I assisted in launching a new business line such as Infrastructure Credit, broadened the European Infra Funds & Co-investments strategy, and formulated a roadmap and strategy for the digital infra sector in Europe. Most recently, I was entrusted with spearheading our initial European Infrastructure control investment. The learning opportunities at GIC are endless!

What you should know before joining GIC

Acquire knowledge about GIC and the department of your interest by speaking to people. Having a good understanding of the organisation will enable you to have more meaningful discussions and ask perceptive questions during the interview.
