Kate

Kate is a Senior Vice President in GIC’s Infrastructure team where, together with her team, she covers investments within the infrastructure sector like transport, energy, and telecommunications. Her daily tasks include sourcing new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on potential new investments, and managing our portfolio assets.

Outside of work, she spends time with her family and friends, and enjoys weekend walks in her neighbourhood.

Why did you decide to join GIC?

My ideal career is one with a positive and collaborative environment, a challenging job scope, and an inspiring mission.

My interest was piqued when I started to grasp GIC’s reach and ability to invest across multiple capital streams. Prior to GIC, my jobs were primarily at fund investors, and as a result, I had always invested under a strict mandate, as opposed to GIC’s more customisable investment structure.

What do you like most about working here?

Prior to starting at GIC, I was unaware of how large the firm was and the benefits of working for such a large organisation.

I love the culture that our team has created, and I look forward to working with the rest of the team every day. Having joined GIC during the peak of Covid, I was surprised at how quickly I felt like a part of the team – even when working remotely for many months!

How would you describe the learning & development culture at GIC?

GIC has already provided me with numerous career development courses and training in less than a year-and-a-half since I joined. Many businesses talk about developing their employees, but few invest in the necessary tools. GIC has clearly prioritised professional development and advancement.

What you should know before joining GIC

Given its large size, GIC has exposure to almost every part of the market. Don’t be shy about reaching out to other investment teams to learn from their existing knowledge and networks!
