Andrew joined GIC two years ago through the GIC Professionals Programme (GPP). As an Associate in the Infrastructure department, he focuses on conducting due diligence for new infrastructure investments—analysing potential opportunities and assessing their viability. In addition to evaluating new deals, Andrew is involved in portfolio asset management, where he identifies areas for improvement and helps optimize existing investments.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys unwinding with friends and family, whether it’s sharing a meal, playing sports, or going for walks together.
Why did you decide to join GIC?

What does a typical workday look like for you?
Each day begins with a review of the latest news and a quick check of my inbox. I then focus on due diligence for my current deals, which can involve anything from conducting in-depth desktop analysis to meeting with industry experts and counterparties. Throughout the day, I stay connected with my team, regularly exchanging ideas and updates to ensure we’re aligned and making progress together.

What skills or knowledge have you developed while working at GIC?
During my time at GIC, I have developed a well-rounded blend of technical and soft skills. On the technical front, I have significantly strengthened my analytical abilities and financial modeling expertise, enabling me to evaluate complex investment opportunities with greater confidence and precision. At the same time, I have honed my communication and teamwork skills, which are essential for collaborating effectively with colleagues across different teams and functions.
What are some highlights in your career thus far?
I have had the opportunity to be involved in several fascinating deals across the digital infrastructure and transport sectors, allowing me to gain hands-on experience in evaluating investments that are critical to modern economies.
Beyond deal work, I have also contributed to projects such as conducting industry landscape analyses and supporting portfolio strategy projects for the Infrastructure department.
What advice would you give to candidates looking to join GIC?
