Frequently Asked Questions

When and where is the hackathon held?

The problem statement will be released online on the evening of 17 September 2026. The hackathon will be held at the GIC Singapore Office on 18 September 2026, 08:30a.m. until late.

How do I get there?

GIC Singapore Office is located at Capital Tower, 168 Robinson Road, Singapore 068912.
Parking is available at Capital Tower. If you’re taking public transport, the nearest MRT is Tanjong Pagar (Exit E).

Do I need to be a STEM major to join?

No. We welcome undergraduates from all disciplines and majors — you don’t need to be a STEM student to take part. A passion for technology and problem-solving is what matters most, and some familiarity with tech is a plus.

Is there a technical assessment?

Yes. As part of your application, you will complete an online technical assessment via HackerRank.

What equipment do I need to bring?

Participants are expected to bring their own laptops and any supporting devices required to complete the hackathon.

Will meals and refreshments be provided?

Yes. Meals and refreshments will be provided throughout the event to keep participants energised.

What is the dress code?

Dress comfortably — T-shirts will be provided for all participants to wear during the hackathon.

Will Wi-Fi and power be provided at the venue?

Yes. Wi-Fi and power outlets will be available at the venue for all participants.

How are we allocated to teams?

Participants will be assigned to teams of four or more randomly. Please note that there will be no selection of teams or team members.
