Disability Inclusion at GIC

When diverse teams feel included, we build shared belonging to one another and to GIC.

If you are interested in career opportunities with GIC under our GIC Enable Programme, we encourage you to share your CV with us. Our team will reach out to learn about your background and explore opportunities that may be a good match, while ensuring any accommodations you may need during the hiring process are in in place.

At GIC, we believe talent comes in many forms, and we look forward to connecting with you.

We welcome applications from PWDs across all roles and levels. Your skills, experience, and potential matter most to us. We recognise that depending on the nature of your disability, you may have various strengths, as well as limitations. We design our jobs in ways that make the most of your strengths.

Our people are guided by our GIC PRIME values, which shape how we work and care for one another. We create a culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging and purpose. You will have opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to GIC’s mission, working alongside colleagues who value diverse perspectives and experiences.

We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.

Some examples include (but are not limited to):
• Extra time for cognitive and technical skills tests
• Adaptations to interview formats (e.g. onsite vs online; individual vs group)
• Provision of assessment materials in different mediums (e.g. hardcopy vs softcopy)

If you require accommodation during the recruitment process, please inform our recruiters when they reach out to you regarding your application and we can have an open discussion.

We take an open and consultative approach to workplace accommodation to best support you.

Some examples include (but are not limited to):
• Work-from-home flexibility
• Revised seating arrangement for easier access and to reduce noise interference
• Installation of automatic swing doors to remove manual pushing of doors
• Provision of access pass for authorised caregiver

We are proud to be conferred the Enabling Mark, a national-level accreditation framework that benchmarks and recognises organisations for their best practices and outcomes in disability-inclusive employment, by SG Enable, Singapore’s focal agency for disability inclusion.

Since 2023, GIC has taken part in the annual contingent march at The Purple Parade. Our employees – with and without disabilities – come together to promote awareness and celebrate abilities of the disabled. The wholehearted support of our employees means that our contingent is among the largest at the event!

We host the Enabling Academy, the training and consultancy arm of SG Enable, to conduct the Disability Awareness Talk for our employees annually. The aim is to improve our employees’ understanding towards persons with disabilities, and help foster a more inclusive environment for people of all abilities to thrive together. The talk covers topics including the types of disability, disability etiquette, job accommodations, and resources and support available.
